Hubei University of Technology (HBUT) is a top tier university of Wuhan. It is a multi-disciplinary university offering degrees in Engineering, Literature, Sciences, Art, Economics, Management, Law, and Education. HBUT now has 62 undergraduate programs and 75 Master’s degree programs with over 20,000 Chinese students and over 700 foreign students. It has established partnerships with more than 80 universities, colleges and research institutes from more than a dozen countries and regions such as the USA, Germany, France, the UK, Canada, etc. 30 Full-time foreign teachers are currently working at HBUT .

Job Description

Primary duties involve teaching English as a Second Language. Classes are often focused on either oral (e.g., speaking & listening) or writing (e.g., Business Writing) skills, but we also offer culture-based classes, English Salons, and other special classes with an English focus.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

· Bachelor's degree†

· Teaching Experience

◦ Some form of TEFL\TESL certification, OR

◦ At least two years of teaching experience (with reference letters^‡), OR

◦ Hold a degree in Education

· Language ability

◦ Native speaker, OR

◦ Hold an earned degree from a country whose native language is English

Benefits Package

· From 6,800RMB with a degree bonus (for Master, an additional 300RMB; for PHD, an additional 500RMB) for up to 20 class hours (45 minutes each) per week, no office hours.

· On a full year contract (1 semester probation period), work for 8 months (18 weeks x 2), get paid for 9.

· Paid public holidays (including the Mid-autumn festival, China's National Day, and the May Day holiday) when applicable.

· 1100 RMB travel allowance per semester.

· Reimbursement for international airfare to a maximum value of 12,000 RMB per year.

Note:6,800is an above-average salary for Wuhan, which enjoys one of the lowest costs of living among all major Chinese cities.The average monthly salary in Wuhan is around 4000-5000RMB. 6,800RMB can make you a very comfortable life in Wuhan.

Our TEFL in China Wuhan Training Center is accredited by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and is established at Hubei University of Technology (HBUT), which is the only authorized training center in Hubei Province, Servicing Central China.

Upon successful completion of our 7-day intensive training program (42 hours), and an additional Online course (approx. 64 hours), a TEFL in China certificate will be awarded, which is the most recognized qualification of English teaching eligibility throughout China.

The Trainers at HBUT are all qualified TEFL teachers with many years practical teaching and/or administrative experience in China.
