On June 5th, the Third Design and Art Festival of Hubei University of Technology opened. The theme of this design and art festival is creative art collection, which is composed of eight sections, such as the graduation design joint exhibition of teachers and students' art works exhibition, ecological construction, and construction festival. More than 480 pieces of works of students majoring in design from four schools of College of Art and Design, College of Industrial Design, College of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environment, College of Engineering and Technology are exhibited.
Hu Xiaoyan, Standing Committee Member and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission of Hubei University of Technology , and Gong Fayun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hubei University of Technology, have attended the opening ceremony. Also present at the opening ceremony were Ding Zhenguo, former deputy party secretary of China University of Geosciences, and Zhang Wei, president of Hubei Academy of Forestry, as well as leaders of some cooperative enterprises
At the opening ceremony, Gong Fayun, the Party Committee of Hubei University of Technology and Vice President, Xiong Chuandong, the Executive President of Beijing Bytedance Technology Co., Ltd, and Huang Haibo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Siddi International Central China Company, and Hu Fei, Chairman of Huaxia 5000 (Wuhan) Holding Group, each delivered a speech.

Under the desperate expectations of students, Hu Xiaoyan, Gong Fayun, Zhang Wei, Ding Zhenguo, and Xiong Chuandong together touched the home screen handprints, and Hu Xiaoyan announced that the Third Design and Art Festival of Hubei University of Technology had officially opened.
At the design show, there were various forms of artworks with innovation being one of the highlights. With many celebrities living in, Suspension Bridge Lane lies in the eastern of ancient city in Suzhou. Shen Xiaoying, a student majoring in Architectural Planning Department, came up with the idea of a Digital Culture Creative community based on restoring and repairing five ancient houses of Qing Dynasty celebrities in Suzhou.
She introduced："while restoring the damaged parts, we added the city lookout on the basis of the original style, from which we can have a good view of the ancient city in Suzhou, which largely made the space more interesting. And to attract more youth and College Entrepreneurs, we also added a museum, weekend market, animation game design workshop, and other places, including those which bring in games and cultural and creative industries, thus activating the vitality of Suspension Bridge Lane in Suzhou. " And Huang Yanyan, who is the Vice-President of the Architectural Planning Department, accessed: " In this design, architecture is historical and function is fashionable, which the designers now not only pass on the culture and history, but they also try to dig out more fashionable industry ".
The graduation design can be considered the assessment of professional training in college. The artwork designed by Liu Yang, majoring in Architectural Planning Department, ---"Life +" - "Weaving Life" film for youth community in a post-epidemic era was an conceptual artwork.From the design logic to its content, designer’s pursuit can be seen. According to Zheng Wei, the instructor, the graduation design not only strictly followed the whole process of design expression training, but also paid attention to protecting students' creative passion and avoiding the limitation of imagination by market. Only when they understand the method, can they make better works after graduation.

Xiao Xinyu, a member of I Innovation Alliance team of Hubei university of Technology, showed the audience her artworks. She explained this ' Tide - lane' guardrail system can not only automatically move the location monitoring road conditions, but also project on the same road surface projection and guide road vehicles to help ease the congestion of the urban commute." Under the guidance of the teacher, Hu Shan, the teammates also designed smart medical guide bracelet which can help people promptly go to see the doctor, AI guide assistance which can help the elderly with the operation of smart phones, the Interactive applet to help users to better use the integral interests and have been adopted by the State Bank.
The Art Festival was a competition for creating gorgeous beauty, creating beauty, and flamboyant beauty. On the scene, six damaged porcelains with different shapes, produced in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, were reborn under the designer's ingenious creativity. The damaged parts were filled with wool felt skillfully, and the special wool pricking needles were constantly pricked, turning into various beautiful feet bottles. On the wall, the exquisite Chinese embroidery work "Floating and Sinking" adopts three embroidery methods (swimming needle, plain needle, and robbing grain) and embroiders sparkling blue water waves and marine life with overlapping lines one after another. The blindfolded girl who swims to the bottom of the water has a smart posture and beautiful artistic conception. Author Chen Chenxue introduced that the whole group of works had been embroidered for half a year, and in order to express rich colors, a large bag of threads about one centimeter long were saved.
Gong Fayun said that the design art festival emphasizes the cross-border integration of multiple majors and the design concept of letting a hundred flowers bloom, with the combination of online and offline, rich content and various forms, which is the largest aesthetic education course in the school. He hopes that through the holding of the design art festival, we can promote teaching, learning and cooperation by exhibition, stimulating students' creativity, training all-round development of design art talents.
It is reported that, in addition to the design art exhibition, this design art festival also includes a series of academic forums, lectures on humanities, concerts, etc., and lasts until June 15, during which time it is open to the public free of charge.
