School of Arts and Design

The School of Arts and Design, Hubei University of Technology was founded in 1978. It was the first of the three polytechnic colleges to have a design major. After nearly four decades of development, “Hugong Design” and “learn design in Hugong” have become distinctive brands of the school. The school enjoys a leading position in college arts and design education fields of Hubei, and has trained many outstanding design talents for the design industry. The school enjoys high prestige in cultural creation and the design industry, as well as the arts and design education field. 

The school has outstanding teaching conditions, including a 30,000 m² modern arts and design building, modern comprehensive experimentation building, computer room, tutor offices, library, multi-media classrooms, academic hall, and other teaching/research resources. 

The school has a global vision. The school has worked with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to establish a cooperative art education program that cultivates international composite high-end designers. The school has organized or hosted many important international academic symposiums and exhibitions, and has maintained long-term communications with famous universities around the world.
