School of International Education

Adhering to the principle of invigorating the university with the opening up policy, Hubei University of Technology carries out all-dimensional, multi-level and wide-ranging international exchange and cooperation to promote the internationalization level of education.

In the last decade, we begin to develop international program, and we keep learning and exploring, and now we have more than 1000 students registered in our international programs. The international cooperation covers countries such asUSA,France,Germany, andAustralia. In 2004, HBUT established the Sino-Canadian Cooperative Program of Tertiary Education with Lambton College. In 2005, the university began the Sino-French Bachelor Degree Program in Mechanics and Civil Engineering with Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée. In 2008, HBUT started the Sino-German Bachelor Degree Program in Civil Engineering with University of Wuppertal in German. The Sino-Czech Bachelor and Master Degree Program in Finance with VSB-Technical University of Ostrava was established in 2009. In 2010, the Sino-Australian Bachelor and Master Degree Program in Computer Science and Technology with University of Tasmania opened. The Sino-US Bachelor Degree Program in Art Design with University of Wisconsin Milwaukee started in 2012. In 2013, HBUT established the Sino-British Bachelor Degree Program in Mechanical Design & Manufacturing and Automation, and Electronic Information Engineering with Anglia Ruskin University. Till 2014, students registered in the international programs offered by HBUT exceeded 1200, which ranked at the top among the universities in Hubei province. The cooperation level start from Tertiary education to Master program, the cooperation specialty also evolved from 1 specialty in 1 college to the current 8 specialties in 7 schools, which receives good comments from the society.

Moreover, HBUT also actively conduct the work of cultivating international students inChinawith a gradual increase of the number of international students at HBUT. Over 200 students from more than 40 countries such as USA, Germany, Italy, Holland, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam have taken Chinese language training, Bachelor and Master program, special research projects and short term exchanges, among whom 20 students have been awarded Hubei Provincial Government Scholarship. 

Being a department with dual function of teaching and management of international students and program students, School of International Education, founded in 2015, is responsible for the development, management of international programs, and the cultivation and management of students studying inChina.
