The 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics will be held from March 4 to 13. Guo Bailing, a 2008 statistics alumnus from the School of Science of our school, was selected as the torchbearer of the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games.

Guo Bailing, now a data engineer at Alibaba in Hangzhou, contracted polio when he was just over a year old, which left him permanently disabled.

Facing the unfortunate encounter, Guo Bailing faced it with a strong and optimistic heart. In 2008, he was admitted to Hubei University of Technology with excellent grades, fulfilling his university dream.

In 2012, Guo Bailing was successfully admitted to Huazhong University of Science and Technology for a master's degree. After graduating from graduate school, he joined Alibaba in Hangzhou and became a data analyst.

"I hope that through this torch relay, the fire of love can illuminate and help more disabled friends in need." Guo Bailing said.

It is reported that the torch relay of the Beijing Winter Paralympics will be held from March 2 to 4, with a total of about 600 torchbearers.
