On March 30th, Xia Bing, the Deputy Director of the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 5 of his colleagues visited Hubei University of Technology (HBUT) to listen to opinions and advice of universities, scientific research institutions, and researchers on the reform of the national science and technology innovation system and mechanism under the new circumstances. Wu Yuelang, a second-level inspector from the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province and main leader of the Foreign Experts' Office, kept company with the investigating group to attend the meeting hosted by the university. HBUT President Peng Yuyuan attended the meeting, and it is hosted by Vice-President Li Dongsheng.
Peng Yuyuan welcomed and expressed thanks to the delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province. President Peng made a brief introduction regarding 4 aspects, which were: an introduction to HBUT, its scientific and technological research, international relationships, and high-level talents.
After the meeting, General Secretary Liu Defu, President Peng Yuyuan, and Vice-President Li Dongsheng accompanied the delegation to visit the School of Chip Industry, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Education’s 111center for "Cell Regulation and Molecular Medicines", and the Pilot Distillery Base.
