On the afternoon of April 5th, the meeting for competition preparation and layout of the national finals of the 18th Chinese University Basketball Association (hereafter referred to as 'CUBA') was held in the university. After a lapse of 5 years, the men's basketball team of our university reached the national finals of CUBA again (our university won the second place in the Southwest Division of the 13th CUBA in 2011). Our vice president, Prof. Zhang Yingjiang attended the meeting and make the arrangements of preparing for the finals.

The Southwest Division finals was held in Yunnan University of Finance and Economics from March 25th to April 1st. There were 16 men's teams and 12 women's teams in total taking part in the Southwest Division finals. Our university basketball team finished fifth with four wins and three defeats and reached the national finals, which ranked the sixth place in the Southwest Division.

During the competition, Mr. Wang Lei, the former Men's National Basketball Team member and the teacher from our School of Physical Education also watched the game on the spot.

It is reported that the national finals of the 18th CUBA Finals will be held in the Civil Aviation University of China in May.
