School of Sciences

The School of Sciences is the basic course department that was merged into Hubei Polytechnic Institute in 1985. In 1997, the school was renamed Basic Sciences Department. To meet the demands of university development and course arrangement, the Department of Mathematics and Physics was founded in March 2002. In June 2004, the school was renamed the School of Sciences.

The school has 100 teaching and administration staff, including 87 full-time teachers. The school attaches importance to both teaching and research. The teaching tasks include public mathematics and physics for full-time postgraduate, undergraduate, and junior college students of the entire university, and the courses of postgraduate and undergraduate students of this school. The school has 4 undergraduate courses namely optoelectronic information science and engineering, electronic information science and technology, statistics, information and computer science, and 1 secondary college major namely computer accounting. The school has 841 undergraduate, junior college, and postgraduate students.
